Daylight Availability

DaylightCleveland has been designed and constructed with quality daylight as a primary source of light in classrooms.

Daylighting is fundamentally important to high performance design, and has a number of advantages, including improved occupant productivity, improved connection to the outdoors, improved health, energy savings, and quality of light.

When designing the buildings, the architects and engineers conducted a daylight study using the Spatial Daylight Saturation (sDS) Approach and the maximum Daylight Autonomy (DAmax) path to ensure a quality daylighting design that minimizes glare and direct sunlight penetration while providing energy savings.
