The Legislature enacted SB 1375 to ensure that charter schools that receive federal funds are aware of their obligations under federal Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. In enacting the bill, the Legislature requires them to appoint a Title IX coordinator at the school level, adopt and publish rules regarding investigating and responding to Title IX complaints and notify all students, parents, and staff of their rights under Title IX.
