CAASPP Testing
Parent Notification Letters: Sent on 3/19/2025
*Important Information to Know*
-
All our 11th graders along with specific 12 graders who have not taken the Science test before will be taking the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, California Alternate Assessment (CAA) for ELA and Mathematics, and California Science Test (CAST). The CAASPP test results are one way we can better understand if we are meeting that goal. We will start administering CAASPP assessments during the testing window April 21st to May 23rd.
-
Cleveland High School, just like any other LAUSD school, is expected to meet the minimum 95% participation. To meet this requirement, we will be having make up days.
-
Parents or guardians have the option of exempting their child(ren) from participating in the CAASPP program. If you would like to exempt your child, please submit your request in writing to your school as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements for your child on the date of the test. Note: If the request is submitted to the school AFTER the student has started testing, any tests the student has completed will be scored and a report may be generated.
-
Opt-outs will count against the school’s California Dashboard Report, as LAUSD schools are expected to meet the minimum 95% participation. Please submit your request to Ms. Alvarez, CAASPP Coordinator.
