Blackboard Connect Messages: Spring 2022

1/23/22:

This is Ms. Duong from Grover Cleveland Charter High School with your updates for the week of January 24.

PD Schedule on Monday: This is a reminder that on Monday, period 1 will begin at 9:34 AM. Zero period still starts at 7:27 AM. Please plan accordingly.

Updated LAUSD Exposure Management Guidelines During "Surge": As of January 24, the following is now in effect as a part of LACDPH' surge protocol. As with everything, this is subject to change.

  • Fully Vaccinated:  Both students and staff are considered to be "fully vaccinated" two weeks after their primary COVID-19 vaccine series (two doses of Pfizer or Moderna, or one dose of Janssen's Johnson and Johnson).
  • Ongoing Weekly Testing Through February: Testing will continue for students and employees, regardless of vaccination status. Anyone who has had a positive COVID-19 test in the previous 90 days is exempt from the weekly, in-school PCR testing. This week, we will test Tuesday, January 25.
  • Upgraded Masks: Students will be required to wear a non-cloth mask with a nose wire at all times, including while participating in athletic activities.
  • TK-12 Close Contacts Will Remain On Campus: In accordance with LACDPH guidelines, all students and employees on campus will be treated as if they are a close contact, and will remain on campus as long as they remain asymptomatic and participate in the weekly testing.
    • Families will not receive individual close contact notifications.
    • These students can participate in sports and before- and after-school programs, as long as they do not have any symptoms, continue testing negative. and wear a well-fitted mask during these activities.
    • If a student develops symptoms or tests positive, they must isolate immediately and follow home isolation protocols.
  • At-Home Close Contacts: Students exposed to COVID-19 outside of school must still participate in at-home quarantine unless they are fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days.

Vaccination Clinic: Students may get their vaccine or booster shot at Cleveland on Monday, January 24 from 12 PM to 7 PM. All students 17 or younger must have a signed consent form when they come to get their first and second vaccine, or booster. The form was sent via Schoology to all students. If students are coming for a second dose or booster, they must bring their vaccination card.
