Weekly Connect Ed Updates, Fall 2019

Week of August 19th:

The first day of fall semester for students is Tuesday, August 20th. School begins at 8 AM and ends at 3:10 PM. Fall schedules are posted on the school website.  All students may access the schedules using their District ID.  Currently, the only room number listed is your period 2 class where you will go at 8 AM on Tuesday to receive your printed schedule. If you are unable to access the information online, lists will be posted in the front of the school and along the arcade walkway with your room location.

No class changes will be made on Tuesday.  On Wednesday, those who need class changes may pick up a Request to See Counselor form available from their period 2 teachers.

Parents and Guardians—please remember to complete a meal application form and to update your information on the LAUSD Parent Portal.  More information is available on the website.

Looking ahead:  Back-to-School Night is on Wednesday, August 28 at 6 PM.

Week of August 12th:
School does not start until August 20th, but we have a few important events taking place this coming week to help get all of you prepared for a smooth first day of school.

This Monday, we will post tentative fall student schedules on the school website after 3 PM.  They will include course titles, not teacher names. You will need your District ID number to access this.  If students notice that they are enrolled in the wrong course, please note we will have Program Repair Day in the Library on Tuesday for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students.

  • Seniors may come Tuesday from 8 AM – 10 AM
  • Juniors may come from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Tenth grade students should come from 1 PM to 3 PM

On Wednesday, we invite all incoming 9th grade and other new students to our Orientation.  The program will begin at 8:30 AM. Registration will be in front of the school.  Part of the morning will include completing meal applications and updating information on the LAUSD Parent Portal. Those who have completed their meal applications should print a confirmation letter or email to receive lockers during Orientation. Those who do not attend or choose not to complete an application at the event may get their lockers once school begins. More information about orientation is on the school website.  Counselors will also be on campus that day to make changes to ninth grade schedules, as needed.

Additionally, we sent pre-fall semester letters home with pertinent information. If you did not receive one, please make sure to update your address in the Attendance Office and on the LAUSD Parent Portal. Letters returned to the school may be picked up from the Counseling Office.
