Course Description

Course Overview:

The objective of this course is to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of economics, including micro and macro economics, personal finance, as well as fiscal, monetary, and trade policy. Students will deepen their understanding of the economic problems and institutions of the nation and the world in which they live.  Students will practice skills such as budgeting, time management, and college & career readiness in order to grasp an understanding of scarcity and opportunity costs using quantitative analysis skills and data including, charts, graphs, and tables to examine the laws of supply and demand.

  1. Microeconomics: Fundamentals of Economics, Economic Systems, Supply & Demand, Market Structures, Business & Labor
  2. Macroeconomics: Money & Banking, Measuring Economic Performance, Fiscal & Monetary Policy, Trade Policy
  3. Personal Finance: Fiscal fitness, budgeting, banking, personal wealth, saving and planning, credit and debit, risk management, consumer education, taxes & income
