AP European History

Course Description

AP European History covers the study of Europe circa 1450-present day. Students will examine 9 Units divided into 4 Periods as prescribed by College Board:
Fall semester includes:
Period 1: 1450-1648 (Renaissance, Exploration, and Reformation - 2 Units)
Period 2: 1648-1815 (Absolutism & Constitutionalism, Scientific Revolution & Enlightenment, the late 18th Century and the French Revolution and Napoleon - 3 Units)
 
Spring semester includes:
Period 3: 1815-1914 (Industrialization and the Concert of Europe, the 19th Century - 2 Units)
Period 4: 1914-present (20th-Century Global Conflicts, the Cold War, Contemporary Europe - 2 Units)
 
This survey course covers political, economic, religious, social, intellectual, geographic, and art history over that time period.
