IF, in fact, school does resume on Wednesday, here is the revised finals schedule approved by the CGC:

Wednesday, December 16th: periods 1 and 4

Thursday, December 17th: periods 2 and 5

Friday, December 18th: periods 3 and 6

We will be on a minimum day schedule all three days with a 12:36 PM dismissal.

**** Somehow I really screwed this up. I added to questions to the worksheet, and they are not there (notice 17 answers but only 15 questions).  HOW TO FIX: Cross out #7 and 8 from the answers.  Renumber the answers, from 9 and above by subtracting 2. (ex 11 - 2 = 9)  This will match up everything

Recover an old homework assignment by correcting your test.  Corrections must be done in colored pen, include relevant work, corrections and explanations.  You are expected to do more than write down answers.

Section 3.2 in text, pg 135+, #1, 2, 3-13 odd, 14, 15, 23, 25-28.

Read and review concepts in sections 3.1 (text pg 126+, journal pg 68+), take notes as needed.  Assignment: section 3.1 in text, Pgs. 129+, 1, 2, 3-21 odd, 24, 29-31, plus 12 and 14, we need those.  (Forgot to tell P1, so you need to add those)

Pg. 123, #1-10.  Use the examples.  Make sure you get the final equation in #4-9, not just b.

In Text, section 2.5, Pgs. 103+, #1, 2, 3-15 odd, 18, 20, 24-26.  This problems will be challenging.  Push yourself out of the comfort zone.  Check answers.  Many times a series of steps used in one problem get used in several others. If you are watching you will start to remember some of the groups of steps as you see them come up more often.

Test Corrections

Pg 39 & 40 in the Journal.  Got to different points in different periods.  Try the Quadrilateral problem.  This is foreshadowing other important topics in the class that we will go into more indepth later.  I will be looking in particular at the Quadrilateral problem for attempts.  If your not sure what the term is, look it up in the glossary or online.

#16) Maintaining Mathematical Proficiency, Pg. 63, #1-4, 7-10 and 13.  #1-4, if you can't get the equation, at least get the next couple of terms.  That will help to develop the equation in class if you find the pattern.  #7-10, follow example 2 above the problems.

#10) From Text, section 1.4, Pgs. 34+, #1, 2, 3-25 odd, 32, 39, 38-44

#9) Read section 1.4 in text so can do pages 19-21 from the Journal, Notetaking with Vocabulary.  Notes section is a little short here, and there are notes worth taking in this section.  Also try 1 or 2 of the Monitoring Progress problems following each example. Answers provided below.  Also complete examples on pages 20 and 21 in Journal.

Assignment: Worksheet - (Practice) quiz.  Header says Chapter 1, Quiz for use after section 1.3.  These questions are from sections 1.1 - 1.3, and are the foundation for the quiz.  Answers will be given tomorrow in class and are attached below.

 

Make sure you are checking and correcting your work, when possible.  Go back and check those odd problems from your book.

#6) Complete yesterdays assignment if not done.  New work is from the text, section pg. 24+, #1, 2, 3-33 odd, 40, 42, 46-53.  We should have some time to work on this in class Wednesday.  Instead of quiz, I will be checking to see if students are following the 5 steps of work as the quiz:  Attempt, Check, Identify, Modify and Repeat.  Work in pencil, check and correct with COLORED pen.  Have your colored pen there.  You will need your compass later in the week, too.

#5) Read section 1.3, pgs. 19+ in text.  In Journal, complete pgs. 14 & 15 (notes & examples.  For notes sections, use examples from the text and do Monitoring Progress problems.
