Assignment
1. Check over your list of things you know about DNA from class today. Look over the items below and make any corrections/additions necessary.
DNA Top Ten
1. DNA is a nucleic acid. This means it is made of nucleotide subunits.
2. Nucleotides have three parts: a phosphate group, a 5-carbon sugar (deoxyribose in DNA), and a nitrogenous base.
3. Nitrogenous bases include adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), and guanine (G).
4. These bases exhibit complementary base pairing - meaning each base only pairs with it's complementary base. A - T and C - G
5. The bonding between complementary bases is what joins the two strands of DNA into a double helix structure.
6. DNA sequences that code for the production of proteins are called genes.
7. Different versions of genes are called alleles.
8. DNA is found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells.
9. All living organisms contain DNA which allows for inheritance.
10. Prior to cell division, DNA replication takes place to create a copy of DNA for the additional cell resulting from division.
Next, watch the YouTube video below and answer the questions on the attached sheet.

Assignment
o Introduces us to the region
o Provides slides that show the flora and fauna in the region
o Includes a food web showing feeding relationships in the area
Include many pictures in your presentations – it should have more pictures than text.
First, begin by creating a table to classify the species in your area. I suggest a table like the following:
Species Eats Is eaten by Trophic Level
Then create a google presentation in corebaby (go to Google drive, and create a new presentation.) Only one group member should do this and they can share the presentation with the rest of the group. Then you can start developing your slides.
Use class time today and tomorrow to work on the assignment. You and your group will present on Friday.
