The literature in the 1950s was mostly about science fiction. When they started to explore outer space during the 50's many where fascinated by aliens and space ships. Many books were published on science fiction novels and comic books also included space adventures.

         By 1954 millions of magazines were sold for 10 cents like horror comics, the first sports illustrated, the first mad magazine, and the TV guide.   There were magazines on home living and fashion. Also the first super heroes like super man, batman, wonder woman, and captain marvel were created for the comic book world.  

           Many authors focused on science fiction and the space theme. With the first sci-fi book 'I robot' by Isaac Asimov and his famous three laws of robotics. Along with authors how didn't focus on science but on different things like murder mysteries, cooking books, horror books and other subjects.
