Drawing AB is a foundation class which guides students to achieve the standards in the visual arts. In other words, we look at, talk about, write about, and make art. Students develop their ability to express ideas through drawing media. The focus of the first semester is on observational drawing skills, and the second
semester on composition and exploration of media. Students make connections to other disciplines, to art history, and to other
cultures. Students research and discuss the range of careers in visual arts. Students will be using a variety of materials including charcoal, marker, ink, colored pencils, tempera paint and pastels.
Students build a portfolio of work and will be prepared for more advanced classes in the art department.
