Graduation 2019 Information

Diploma covers: All graduates receive a LAUSD diploma cover with their official diploma. However, those who wish to purchase an official padded hardcover diploma cover for $15 cash only, can do so at the Student Store or a during diploma distribution after the ceremony in the MPR.

Graduation Appeals:
If you would like to appeal your participation in the graduation ceremony, please download the form and complete it as requested. All requests must be submitted to Ms. Slaughter's mailbox by dates listed on the appeals form.

Graduation Ceremony:
The graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 6th at 6:00 PM on the Cleveland Charter High School Football Field. There will be a mandatory rehearsal for students at 8 AM on this day on the Football Field.
Graduation Cap and Gown Distribution:
Seniors who are cleared from the Senior Stop Clearance List may pick up their gowns June 5th between 10:00-11:30 AM in the MPR. You must have a picture ID and your signed Graduation Commandments. If you do not have a copy of the Graduation Commandments, you may download the form--see below. 
Graduation Tickets:
Each candidate for graduation will receive 5 tickets. There are no extra tickets available. If you need additional tickets, please ask seniors in your section who are not using their tickets.

Please be aware that in order to take part in the graduation ceremony, students must fulfill all senior requirements:completion of senior portfolio and survey; academic clearance by counselor; library book clearance; textbook clearance; detention clearance; athletic uniform clearance. 
Graduation Cords--students may qualify for graduation cords based not only on academic achievement, but also athletic and school-based service achievements.  The form is available in the student store.  You must check the list in the student store starting May 1st to confirm the cords you may purchase. Each cord is $15 and may be purchased through the Student Store starting May 1st.

Graduation Speakers and Singers Audition:

If you would like to be a speaker at the 2019 graduation ceremony, you may audition. Contrary to popular belief, graduation speeches are not for valedictorians or class officers only. Here at The Land, everyone is welcomed to audition. Speeches must not exceed 2 minutes and must be graduation-appropriate. For more information, see Ms. Hall in F-9. Auditions are May 1st after-school. 
If you’re planning on being a featured singer at the graduation ceremony, it’s time to polish up your act. We are looking for someone or some group to sing the “National Anthem” and possibly another graduation-appropriate song. Songs may not exceed 2 minutes. For more information, see Ms. Hall in F-9.
