My Background and Experience

I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley.

I hold two degrees and two credentials. The degrees I hold are in Art. The credentials are in art and mathematics. My postgraduate internship was at Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

I have worked in the entertainment industry since 1974. I worked for ABC television during two presidential elections and the 1984 Olympics.

I have been a professional ceramicist (potter)for 20 years. I’ve been teaching at Cleveland high school since 1996. I’ve tutored a range of students from elementary through college in math and reading for the last 20 years.

My students and I represented Cleveland at the LAUSD Chalk Festival at CSULA. This led to Cleveland’s own Chalk Festival. I organized the committee that created the Clay Day Olympics. This is a ceramics event now in it’s 6th year at CSUN. Since 1997 Cleveland and CSUN have partnered in the arts. On the University’s campus Cleveland’s Ceramics students spend a day working with CSUN grad students.

Kevin Keady and I created the Animation area of the Media Academy and we taught the first media classes. My media focus is in 3-D Stop motion, primarily Clay Animation.
