As an art educator for last sixteen years Mrs Irilianhas provided art instruction to a diverse population
of learners from first grade through adult. She hasworked and volunteered in different instructional
settings, public and private. Her strengths in painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and crafts, has
enabled her to provide an inspirational and challenging environment for her students to
successfully reach their full artistic potential.
Holding a Masters in Art Education from California State University Northridge (CSUN), she strongly
believes in Art Center Inter-disciplinary approach to education. As the co-founder of Academy of Art And Technology (AOAT) at Cleveland High School, she has played an active role in developing curriculum that keep the arts at the center of instruction while meeting the California Standards and frameworks for all subject areas.
She has served as a Master Teacher for art teachers in training, supervising and advising them regarding class management, instruction and curriculum
development. She is also a member of the part time teaching staff at CSUN, providing instruction to
credential students on incorporating art into elementary school curriculum.
As the Art Department Co-chair, in addition to programming, and budgeting, she has written grants to
support the department and the AOAT financial needs. She is also twice recipient of the Neighborhood
Matching Funds Grant. Using these funds and working with students, parents, community members and
businesses she has designed and implemented plans to create a 6,000 square foot outdoor gallery, an
award-winning project.
As an artist she is experienced in working with different media in various styles, abstract or
representational. She has been an exhibiting artist for the last eleven years showing in a variety of
venues from local galleries to, most recently, her Masters Show at California State University Northridge
this past May.
